Your Energy Healing Session

Here is a little guide to help you prepare, relax and make the most of your Energy Healing experience.

Whether you’re completely new to Reiki or have experienced it many times before, your session is an opportunity to pause, reconnect with yourself and allow yourself some much-needed time to rest and receive.

At New Forest Mystic, I want you to feel comfortable, supported and relaxed throughout your experience. Here are a few simple suggestions to help you prepare for your session and look after yourself afterwards.

Before Your Session

Give yourself a little breathing space

Where possible, try not to rush to your appointment. Arriving with a little time to spare can help you settle, take a few deep breaths and begin to let go of the busyness of everyday life.

Eat and hydrate

Have something light to eat beforehand if you need to, and drink water throughout the day. It’s best to arrive feeling comfortable rather than hungry or overly full.

Wear comfortable clothing

Energy Healing is a gentle, non-invasive treatment, and you remain fully clothed throughout your session. Choose loose, comfortable clothing that allows you to relax easily. You can remove shoes, glasses or anything else that might make you uncomfortable while resting.

What to bring

Please bring:

  • A bottle of water to enjoy before or after your session.
  • A journal or notebook, should you wish to write down any thoughts, feelings, reflections or insights that arise.

You don’t need to bring anything else. Just come with an open mind and allow yourself to receive.

During Your Session

Your session is your time to rest.

You may experience warmth, gentle sensations, a feeling of calm or simply a sense of deep relaxation. Some people notice thoughts, emotions or imagery arising, while others experience very little sensation at all.

Every experience is different, and there is no right or wrong way to receive energy healing. You don’t need to concentrate, meditate or try to make anything happen.

If you need to adjust your position, feel uncomfortable or would like to ask a question at any point, please let me know. Your comfort and wellbeing are always important.

After Your Session: Give Yourself Time to Recalibrate

This is where your self-care really matters.

Following your session, I encourage you to give yourself permission to slow down. If possible, avoid rushing straight back into work, errands or everyday responsibilities. Allow yourself a little breathing space to rest, reflect and gently return to your day.

Energy healing sessions can leave some people feeling deeply relaxed or sleepy. Others may feel lighter, refreshed or more reflective. You might notice emotions, thoughts or feelings that you would like to explore further. Equally, you may simply feel calm and peaceful.

There is no set response, and everyone’s experience is different.

Here are a few ways to support yourself after your session:

Rest where possible

If you can, leave some time in your diary after your appointment. You don’t need to fill every moment with activity. A quiet afternoon, an early night or simply sitting peacefully with a cup of tea can be just what you need.

Drink plenty of water.

Continue to hydrate throughout the day and eat nourishing meals as you normally would.

Listen to your body

If you feel tired, allow yourself to rest. If you feel energised, enjoy that feeling while still being mindful of your needs. Try not to put pressure on yourself to feel a particular way.

Take time to reflect

You may wish to write in your journal about your experience, any thoughts that arose or how you felt during and after your session. There is no need to analyse everything; simply notice what feels meaningful to you.

Be gentle with yourself

Where possible, avoid overloading yourself with commitments immediately afterwards. Give yourself permission to have some quiet time and ease back into your usual routine at your own pace.

Allow yourself to settle

You may find that you continue to reflect on your session over the following hours or days. You don’t need to force an outcome or search for a particular sign. Simply give yourself space to notice how you feel and continue with the self-care that feels right for you.

A Gentle Reminder

Reiki is a complementary wellbeing practice intended to support relaxation and personal wellbeing. Experiences vary from person to person, and there is no prescribed way you should feel afterwards.

You don’t need to do anything special to make your session work. You are simply giving yourself permission to pause, receive and reconnect with yourself.

Above all, remember that you deserve this time for yourself.

Thank you for choosing New Forest Wellness. I look forward to welcoming you and being part of your wellbeing journey.

With warmth and care,
